Reflections from NYSABA 2025 - What It Really Felt Like to Be There
We just got back from two energizing days at the NYSABA 2025 Annual Conference in Albany and honestly, we're still buzzing.
There's something about being surrounded by hundreds of people who get it, who care about data, behavior science, ethics, and impact but who also care deeply about people. That mix of rigor and heart is what makes this community so special.
As a Silver Tier sponsor, S Cubed was proud to be part of this year's theme: "A Celebration of Diverse Voices in ABA." And wow, did those voices show up.
Highlights That Stuck With Us
The energy kicked off right from the first keynote. Dr. Jomella Watson-Thompson reminded us that behavioral science doesn't live in a vacuum, it lives in communities, shaped by real lives and real struggles. Her talk on building community-driven behavioral change hit home for many of us.
Later, Dr. Kristen Gillespie-Lynch spoke about neurodiversity and inclusion and there was this collective moment of reflection in the room. You could feel the field stretching, evolving, opening up.
Between sessions, we found ourselves in conversations about everything from quality assurance and ethics to how to better support adults with autism and how families fit into the ABA process. Every discussion had that familiar mix of curiosity, compassion, and determination.
What It Felt Like to Be There as S Cubed
Our booth became a little meeting spot for friends old and new. People stopped by to chat about data visualization, share their daily workflow challenges, or tell us how they're using S Cubed features in ways we hadn't even imagined.

One BCBA told us, "Your reports are finally helping my team see why the data matters." That kind of feedback? Gold.
We didn't just - demo S Cubed and its features, we swapped stories, compared notes, and got inspired by how creative the ABA community is getting with data.
The best part? Every conversation reinforced why we do what we do. Technology is great, but it's really about helping humans help humans.
What We're Taking Away from NYSABA 2025
A few things are sticking with us as we unpack our notes (and maybe too many free pens):
Diversity isn't a buzzword, it's the future.
From cultural responsiveness to neurodiversity, ABA is becoming more inclusive and more human. That's a good thing.
Quality and integrity can't be automated.
Tools help, but at the end of the day, it's the clinicians, caregivers, teachers, who make the difference.
Partnership beats competition.
Whether it's research, policy, or product development, collaboration makes us all better.
Learning is the heartbeat of this community.
Everyone we met was hungry to learn, share, and grow. That's the spirit that keeps ABA evolving.
A Big Thank You
Huge gratitude to the NYSABA Board, organizers, speakers, and every single attendee who stopped by to chat, share, or just say hi. Events like this remind us that ABA isn't just a field, it's a movement.

We left Albany feeling grateful, recharged, and more connected than ever to the mission that drives us: helping ABA professionals turn data into meaningful action.
Here's to the work ahead and to seeing everyone again next year.
